Abby's Antics II

I have been meaning to catch up on Abby's new developments for a while so here are a few of her new things as she is on the brink of turning TWO!

She is discovering letters and numbers and every time she see either she calls them"ABC's" and she even sings her ABC's up to E.

Abby recently started faking falling asleep.  She will pretend she is asleep for a couple minutes (as long as you keep egging her on) and then she wakes up and surprises us!  She is such an actress.  She also tries to fake cry once in a while...it is pretty comical to call her out on it.

This is nothing new but she still loves getting sandy at the beach (unfortunately for her friends...especially Gavin who likes to stay clean) but if there is the tiniest spill on the floor she is on it!  She does not like messes in the house...I used to be that way until I had 2 kids:).

Abby is extremely helpful in some situations.  The other morning we forgot to get Jack form upstairs and we asked Abby to go get him.  She walked upstairs opened the door and let Jack out.  She loves to be in charge of getting wipes and diapers for diaper changes and wants to throw everything away herself.

Abby climbs into the car by herself and gets in her seat (unless she gets distracted by something.)

Her favorite shape is an octagon and she finds them everywhere surprisingly. She also loves to play games with shapes and colors on our iphones and she is getting pretty good at them all.

She is SOOO clumsy.  She trips over her own feet often but she can run and dribble a soccer ball no problem..go figure.

She has eclectic tastes.  She sleeps with her Abby Cadabby doll, a monkey she stole from her brother, a dinosaur a pink hippo and a gloworm.

Abby loves Dora even though she has only seen 1 episode in her entire life.  This is a picture of Abby watching Sesame street with Zack in her favorite Dora PJs.

Sweet Baby Zack

Our very sweet and happy Zack will be 7 months on Monday and got his first tooth last Tuesday.  He eats solid (baby food) for lunch and dinner and loves to snack on little stars and sneaks some of Abby's Cheerios every once in a while. He is scooting a little usually when he wants a ball but generally he reverts to rolling to get around.  He is trying to pull  himself up on things but no luck yet although he does love to stand and bounce around.  He can sit in highchairs and we just added his booster seat to the chair so now we have all four chairs spoken for at the dinner table.

I forgot to put this up a couple of weeks ago but it makes me smile listening to it!

Pumpkin Carving

Matt and Abby carved pumpkins last week and Zack and I played:).  Abby was less than cooperative for the photos but Zack at least gave me a smile.  We opted for the simple pumpkin this year rather than the intricate stencil like last year.  Abby was very helpful and wanted use the knife too...yah right!

Halloween!

We went trick or treating in Ewa Beach this year with the Buelows, Hoffmans, Staffaronis and Weidas.  It was quite the entourage with strollers and wagons and the kids hopping in and out of them all.  The kids had a blast and so did the adults watching them.

Abby ate candy the entire time and we figured we would let her enjoy it since she was never going to see the rest of it after the night was over.  Every time she got a new piece she would ask to "open it!!!"  repeatedly.  The bigger kids caught on and realized it was working so started repeating it too.

My Golden Birthday

I turned 31 on the 31st, which I was told was my golden birthday.  I love having my birthday on Halloween.  I always enjoy being around people but don't like being the center of attention so it is always perfect to have a reason to get together and celebrate on my birthday.  This year it was even better to see Abby so excited to trick or treat.  I just thought is only going to keep getting better as the kids get older.

Matt and I started the weekend celebration off in Waikiki on Friday night.  After dropping the kids off with Auntie Jenn (many thanks!!), we made it in time to do the sunset mai tai cruise.  It was perfect and just what I wanted to do.  After the cruise we headed up to Chuck's for dinner (where we had our third date) and enjoyed the beautiful ocean view and time together.

Saturday we took the kids to the water park and Zack played aroun din the water for the first time...no pics we had our hands full:).  At night the kids and I went to a Halloween party while Matt went to the UH homecoming game.

On Sunday, my actual birthday, we headed to Pokai Bay for breakfast only to find out it was closed so we continued out west to try breakfast at the Makaha resort.  It was a nice buffet and we sat overlooking the golf course with a bunch of surfers from around the world cruising around since there was a contest at Makaha beach over the weekend.

Matt stayed with the kids after breakfast and I went shopping all by myself!  I had soooo much fun taking my time in dressing rooms and browsing endlessly.  We topped of the most fabulous weekend at the Weida's for some trick or treating.

On the Move...Kind Of

Zack's preferred form of movement is rolling these days.  He moves all around but only if he can roll there.  Every time I try and set him up with a toy to crawl to or try and entice him to move his "helpful" big sister rushes to his aid and brings it to him.  Or, her alter ego steals it.

This is a video of him rolling around outside while Matt and Abby were carving pumpkins.  You can hear her in the back saying, " Abby's turn".  She wanted to use the knife...HA!

Gotta love that he chooses to lay right next to the towel I set up for him

Family Date Night

Friday night we ventured off the west coast from our normal Friday night pizza dinner at Red Baron for dinner at Souvaly, a thai resturant.  We got there around 5:30 and we weren't the first people there.  We usually beat the senior citizens to dinner!  Abby loved the rice- she's such a local girl:) and Zack was an angel as always.  He ate his prunes- the newest food to be introduced and just chilled through dinner.  Abby was really good too but made sure that she had constant attention...as always!  She repeated "date night" over and over all night!

After dinner we went to play a round of mini golf, where Matt and I had one of our first dates, and attempted to play a round.  Abby loved getting the balls in the holes but that meant that Matt and I barely got to touch the ball.  The new game turned into trying to get the ball away form Abby to get it in the hole.  It didn't matter how many strokes it was just who could get their ball from Abby.
